Default Reaching Tyria

Yesterday I posted a question about reaching the prophesies area of Tyria and gave many reasons for wishing to do so mainly because there were many missions in EOTN & Nighfall which were proving too difficult and felt that if I could get to Tyria I would be able to 1) play more missions 2) capture some skills unique to prophesies, and hopefully have some fun on the way.

From one member who responded to me I was told that I could get to Tyria via "Lions Arch", through "The Gates of Kryta" and make my way to "Beacons Perch" in the Southern Shiverpeaks, my route( I was advised) should take me through "Lornar's Pass" into Dreadnought's Drift" and on to "Snake Dance" and finally to a town / Outpost of "Deldrimor War Camp"

From Lions Arch it took me about an hour to get to "The Gates of Kryta" and another half a hour to get from there to " Beacon's Perch" there I was able to garner a well earned rest and to "cash in " all that I was able to pick up on the way, I killed many bosses but none which would allow me to capture either Nec/Rit skills I then set out on my journey to the "Deldrimor War Camp".

This has to be the toughest journey I have ever attempted "Lornars Pass " was bad enough with many foes of Ice imps & Craw as well as many other who gang up on you on the way I was killed many times but eventually got to the gate of "Dreadnought's Drift" I sighed a sigh of relief only to find that it was not an Outpost or Town but just another gate on my way.
What I was not prepared for was that as I passed through that gate I immediately encountered Stone summit Dwarves in numbers I had never before encountered and worse there were mounted Stone summit Heretics (some kind of Healer Monk) who were impossible to kill as there were more that one in a group and each protected the other with spells, by this time my DP was 60% and I was resurrected in the shrine by the gate right on top of the Stone Summit forces who immediatly killed my whole team so many times I lost count, but I persisted and killed many foes but those damned Heretics I could not kill, eventually I tried to flag my team well away from the stone summit and was able to outrun them, got around what turned out to be a roundabout and on the other side were so many Stone summit and those bloody heretics that my team were once again wiped out repeatedly only to return to the same reserection shrine right on top of the other mounted Heretecs who again wiped us out repeatedly by this time six hours had passed and I was smashing my forces against a wall of Stone Summit who were unbeatable, there was one occasion when I was able to elude them only to come up against a group of Mountain Giants who within seconds had smashed my team to pieces only to return me back to that bloody resurection shine by the gate, After another hour and a half of making no progress whatsoever I gave up and returned to Beacons perch, seven and a half hours with nothing to show for it but a very frustrated Easter Bunny yes I picked up a lot of Chocolate bunnies which allowed to run around in a frenzy but nothing else.
My Team ? me a Rit/ Nec with my three Sabway Nec/Rit /Monks and a hench healer & archer.
So my question, Is there an easier way to get to Ascalon ? one which will allow me to get there with most of my hair and all of my Sanity.
I know this is a bit of a ramble but on reading it through I gave me a laugh so I hope it will at least raise a smile on the face of you poor reader.

My reason for wanting to go to Tyria ? to escape the frustration of being repeatedly being hammered in the what up to now are proving unbeatable missions which are left to me in Nightfall & EOTN. (Little did I know)
Roll on GW.2 maybe it will give me winnable challenges or just maybe I am not cut out for this game.

You are in Prophecies already. Going through Lornar's is difficult and is only for people wanting to skip the lower-level Kryta, Maguuma, and Crystal Desert areas. If you want easier missions, you should be heading west of Lion's Arch instead.

There's lots of folks in Beacon's Perch who will run you to Droknar's Forge for ~2K in maybe 20 minutes. You probably picked up that much during the course of the events you just outlined. At seven hours for your attempt, it would probably have been faster and easier to go from Lion's Arch to Temple of Ages, then down to Sanctum Cay with a stop by Fisherman's Haven along the way. Do Sanctum Cay, the three desert missions, Ascension, and Dragon's Lair, and wind up in Droknar's. Or just play through the missions starting at Lion's Arch like Savio said. The first one is D'Alessio Seaboard, less than 5 minutes west of LA.

The challenges you are attempting to avoid in Nightfall and Eye of the North are not insurmountable. Your tactics are simply not adequate at present, and/or you may not be sufficiently prepared with skill bars. PvE doesn't change very often, and you can look up details of the area and foes on wiki, and then bring counters and adjust your tactics to beat them.

Necro skills you can get in Tyria (Prophecies), but not Ritualist skills. Elites only appear in the desert and later, which is the last 1/3 of the game if going in 'order'. If you want to play the game, head back to Lion's Arch, and do the Primary quests you get there. You should be heading to D'Allasio Seaboard as the first mission for a foreign character. Going through Lornar's is an EXTREMELY difficult thing to do, and there is no point in doing so outside of Vanquishing. However, the hench in the city are lower level, and your party is limited to a mx of 6 characters, not 8. Most people start from the south and work their way North. The people who head south usually do so to reach Droknar's Forge, which is the first place to gain max level armor in Tyria.

I'd recommend forgetting trying to go through Lornars, and head back to Lion's Arch. Do the quests and missions there, or head back to the other games and continue where you left off.

If you want to do quests and missions in Prophecies, you are definitely going the wrong way and following some very bad advice. The only reasons for a non-native character to go Lion's Arch - Beacon's - Droknar's is to get access to elite Prophecies armor or to "beat Prophecies" by doing the fewest possible quests and missions.

There are two courses you can take from Lion's Arch if you are actually interested in playing the campaign rather than "beating" it.

1) Head east to Ascalon City. You can do all the missions between Ascalon City and Lion's Arch. However, there are no quests for non-native characters, and non-native characters do not get any rewards from those missions. You need those missions if you want to fill a Young Heroes of Tyria book, but you would have to unlock Hard Mode first.

2) Follow the story line starting in Lion's Arch and head west. Non-native characters join the story line when they reach LA and will get all the same quests and missions as the native characters from that point forward.
